Run by Louise and Douglas Harrison, the Inn is located in the small country village of Auldearn, just 2 miles from Nairn between Inverness (capital of the Highlands) and the historic town of Elgin in Moray. It is an ideal location from which to explore the magnificent scenery of the North and West Highlands, Moray, Speyside, the Cairngorms and Aberdeenshire. Cawdor and Brodie Castle, Fort George, Culloden Battlefield and the Malt Whisky Trail – all just a stone’s throw away. If you need any help in planning days out, Douglas will be only too pleased to assist. He keeps up-to-date on where the Moray dolphins and Nessie have been sighted most recently! An abundance of golf courses, beautiful beaches, and scenic walks are also close by. Choose from so many activities such as horseriding, hiking, cycling, swimming, fishing, tennis…. The list is endless. Renowned for its variety of good food using local produce, served in the Kiln Lounge Bar. After eating, why not enjoy a dram at the bar or sit in the conservatory and watch the sunset. The conservatory is the perfect quiet setting for reading, writing your postcards or surfing the Internet. All 14 of the bedrooms are ensuite. The Covenanters (ground floor throughout) also has one bedroom that has been fully adapted with disabled facilities.
Children are well catered for with the indoor Kiddies Cove, outdoor play area and, of course, their own special menu. The Harrison girls are often on hand to meet some of the younger guests. The ‘big kids’ also enjoy the pool table. If you are wondering about the name - it originates from the great Battle of Auldearn in 1645 between the Covenanters and the Marquis of Montrose. In these times, the original part of the Inn was the Mill and Brewhouse for the people of the area. Today, the Highlands are far more welcoming and Douglas, Louise and their daughters look forward to welcoming you!
