The Elms

This 16th century farmhouse bed and breakfast offers very special accommodation - four poster bed, ensuite bathroom, classic beams and old fashioned hospitality. All this just minutes from the heart of Stratford upon Avon, The Royal Shakespeare Theatres and Shakespeare's birthplace.

The Elms dates back to the 16th century. We believe the first section of the timber frame was constructed around 1550; other sections were added later. The actual construction was timber frame with wattle and daub infilled panels.

The house was extended in the 18th/19th century with a large brick built extension. Two very large chimney stacks were added and a bread oven was built.

The garden was also given a walled kitchen garden and the whole house would have been a hive of activity centering around the main business of The Elms Farm.

Changes and cancellations to bookings made up to 7 Days before the arrival date/time are without charge. Thereafter the deposit may be charged. The total value of the booking may be charged if changes/cancellations are made with less than 48 Hours notice.
