Town Hall Lodge

Town Hall Lodge is a magnificent period building which has undergone an extensive yet sensitive conversion to provide friendly, comfortable and contemporary accommodation, situated behind the Town Hall overlooking the old gaol in Swanage.

Start your day in our open plan oak-floored dining room, enjoy our fresh fruit salad, yogurts, cereals and many other breakfast options including vegetarian and gluten-free all served from the huge welsh dresser, whilst we cook your locally sourced full English breakfast in the adjoining flag-stoned kitchen.

All of the rooms are homely and well-supplied, with TV's, DVD players and tea-making facilities and the bathrooms are modern and well-equipped.

Being so central, Town Hall Lodge is a very short walk from all of the town’s attractions, as well as being a superb base to discover the rest of the magnificent Purbeck landscape. Everything in Swanage is so easy to get to, beaches, coastal walks, The Pier, The Stone Quay, The Steam Railway and all of the town's other attractions are all less than a five minute stroll. Town Hall Lodge really couldn't be better placed to make it the perfect base from which to explore and enjoy.

Swanage is a coastal town with a big character and its position at the gateway to the famous Jurassic Coastline makes it a perfect base to explore the Purbeck landscape. With its sandy beaches, steam train, historic pier and stone quay, Swanage has a lot to offer old and young alike and with Carnival Week and several music Festivals, the town is lively throughout the year.

Further afield, the ancient ruins of Corfe Castle, Monkey World, the Tank Museum, small coves, fossil-rich beaches, quarried caves, towering cliffs, sea-worn arches and the whole of the Purbeck is all within approximately half hour drive from Swanage through spectacular countryside.

Your booking is priced and made on a non-cancellable, non-amendable basis. We do not provide or sell insurance; we recommend that all our guests take appropriate insurance to provide cover against the consequences of any changes they may need or wish to make to their plans. If you need to cancel or amend your booking, please phone at the earliest opportunity to let us know; you must pay on demand the the full amount of the booking. We are not obliged to, however at our discretion a refund may subsequently be given if the accommodation can be re-let. Any refund will be subject to deduction of our administration and resale costs. Refunds for cancellations less than 48hrs before date of check in will be subject to a minimum 15% administration fee. For the avoidance of doubt, non-arrival or early departure are treated as cancellations and the full value of the booking remains due.

• Damage and Loss: Guests are responsible for any losses from or damage caused to the rooms, furnishings, fittings and equipment in them by any act, omission, default or neglect and will pay on demand the amount required by the owners to make good or remedy any such damage or loss. Children: Unless you have our documented agreement otherwise we only accommodate children over 12 years of age. Guests arriving with children not demonstrably 12 or over may be refused accommodation but will remain liable for the full cost of the booking as if canceled. Non-Availability of Accommodation: We would only cancel your booking if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would however attempt to offer you alternative accommodation. If this was not possible, or was unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by you for the booking. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.
• Liability: We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment. Problems with the accommodation: There will, from time to time be a problem with some aspect of the accommodation we provide. Most problems can be remedied quickly and easily and we ask that you bring any problems to our attention immediately so that we have an opportunity to put things right. We will not consider any claims for compensatory adjustments to your account unless you have done so. We are a no smoking accommodation. We cannot accept pets.
• You will be staying in our home and we reserve the right to judge acceptable behaviour, levels of noise or disruption by guests, and we will expect corrective action to be applied at our request. In the event of failure to comply, we may terminate the booking immediately without being liable for any refund or compensation and you will remain liable for the full cost of your booking. Smoking: Smoking is prohibited throughout the building. In the event that this condition is not complied with, we reserve the right to terminate the booking immediately without any liability for refund or compensation.
