The Coachouse Hotel & Restaurant

A country hotel of character, built for the Duke of Bedford in 1857 as part of a model farm. Converted to a hotel in 1988 by the present owners Ed and Merl Stevens. The hotel has a 40 seater restaurant serving mainly English food with some European and Indian dishes cooked by our internationally trained chef. A cosy bar and a lounge are available for guests and restaurant customers. A small sunken walled garden is available during the summer for al fresco dining.
The hotel is on the edge of a small hamlet but only 2.5 miles from historic Tavistock. It is situated between Dartmoor National Park and The Tamar Valley designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Close to Morwellham Quay which in 1850's was the biggest copper mine in Europe and is now a living museum. Tavistock boasts two golf courses with several others close by including St Mellion International. Two excellent fishing lakes are also nearby as are many National Trust houses and gardens. Eden Project is a 45 minute drive.

Changes and cancellations to bookings made up to 7 Days before the arrival date/time are without charge. Thereafter the deposit may be charged. The total value of the booking may be charged if changes/cancellations are made with less than 72 Hours notice.
